Fergus Ireland is one of London’s most versatile and in demand Bassists. His playing and compositions have been broadcast on BBC Radio 1,2,3 and 6Music, and on taste-making underground stations such as Worldwide FM and NTS Radio. His songwriting for pop artist Isabelle Brown can be heard on the Hulu Series "Dollface" and he has also composed music for adverts by Versace and Wedgewood. He has also modelled for campaigns by British menswear brands Drakes and Thomas Farthing.
In 2018 his first record as a band leader (Ferg Ireland Trio Volume I) featuring Nathaniel Facey -Alto Saxophone and James Maddren -Drums, was released on new imprint Mondegreen Records. Released only on Vinyl, it was stocked by a choice selection of London's hippest Record shops and sold out in a matter of weeks. The follow up "Volume II" is due to be released in June/July 2020.
He studied at undergraduate level at TrinityLaban Conservatoire, following which he was awarded scholarships by both the Royal Academy of Music and the Countess of Munster Musical Trust to study on the MA course at the Royal Academy of Music (where he graduated with first class honours and was awarded an honorary diploma.)
